Has anyone tried a GForce chip kit?
« on: June 15, 2012, 04:06:09 PM »
When ever I get email notifications from the club in Gmail, I ALWAYS see a link to GForce chips for MX-5 Mazdas.

They make the following claims:

Gain up to 60 hp
Increase mileage by 4-7 mpg
Lower emissions by 25-40%
Installation can be done by ANYONE.

I'll admit that I flat out don't believe the "UP TO 60 hp gain"
but getting another 4-7 mpg does pique my interest.

So the reason for my question: Has anyone here tried a kit from GForce and if yes, what did you really get out of it.

Thanks in advance!

Rob

Go carefully all,
Rob

Very likely what that chip does is that it fools the engine into thinking its running rich, so it cut back on fuel and make you run leaner... or so thats what most "performance chips" do. My advice like most likely everyone else in this board is stay away from it before you damage your engine.
If you truly want to upgrade your ecu, try your hand at other proper systems be it stand alone like Megasquirt or a piggyback. If you want to save gas proper car maintenance get the job done.

I know that its sounds tempting for that price, but all you'll be doing is risking your motor and wasting money.
