MiataMania Officer's Duties
The following positions are elected offices:
President - Officer, on Board of Directors
- Establishes a vision for the club
- Provides direction for the club consistent with the vision and on other matters as necessary
- Serves as primary interface with the national Miata club
- Organizes and conducts monthly club meetings
- Serves as focal point for all club activities
- Coordinates between all club officers as necessary to verify that all club activities are moving forward in a timely manner
- Announces, organizes and conducts Board of Director meetings
Vice President - Officer, on Board of Directors
- Takes on President's duties upon absence of the President
- Works special tasks as requested by the President
- Maintains sign-in table, assists the President with meeting set-up and organizes handouts at all meetings
- Assists other officers and takes on other officers responsibilities as necessary
Secretary - Officer, on Board of Directors
- Records and maintains minutes from all meetings
- Distributes meeting minutes to all officers and other members as necessary
Treasurer - Officer, on Board of Directors
- Establishes and maintains club bank accounts and financial records
- Makes account deposits and disbursements for authorized club expenditures
- Publishes biannual expense and income report
The following positions are filled by appointment:
Activities Chair - on Board of Directors
- Serves as primary interface with other club officers for all club events
- Distributes calendar to club officers and other members as necessary
- Develops and maintains long range event calendar for all club events (including crucial deadlines associated with scheduled events)
- Obtains sponsors for club events and assists sponsors with event planning and preparation
- Develops and distributes monthly reminder cards
- Coordinates development of event write-ups and advertisements/fliers for newsletter and club meetings
- Verifies all event participants have signed a liability form waiver
- Coordinates club banner presence at appropriate club events
Membership Chair - on Board of Directors
- Maintains and updates official membership roster
- Distributes membership roster to all club officers and other members as necessary
- Mails out welcome packages to new members (including laminated membership cards and liability form waivers)
- Collects membership dues and mails out dues reminder cards
- Maintains current membership signed liability form waiver list and provides this data to the Event Committee Coordinator
Newsletter Editor - on Board of Directors
- Publishes and distributes club newsletter
- Maintains current newsletter distribution list
- Establishes deadlines and solicits inputs for the newsletter
- Develops and verifies advertisement content consistent with established club policies
Board Members at Large - on Board of Directors
- Attends scheduled Board of Directors Meetings as a full Board voting member
- Works special tasks as requested by the Board falling outside the responsibilities of the other club officers
- Identifies other suggestions or issues requiring Board of Directors action
